apt found

i found my apartment.. but now i dunno if i shld take it or not.. the logistics is just way too complicated! i have to sign a 6mth contract but knowing my company, i am not even sure if i'll be still here in 2 month's time.. so i dun think that's an option anymore..

i only saw 2 apartments so far, and i dun think i'm gg view more apartments.

the first apartment was priced at $850/mth, not including agency fees, cable, taxes and electricity.. the location was pretty happening, with many tasty looking restaurants just right outside! i think i may walk there one day just to see what's there to eat! =) so simon took us to the apartment.. he tried opening the front door, but somehow the door didn't open.. so he pressed on the doorbell of 4 residents and one responded. after conversing for a few minutes in hebrew (which i expect to be some plea to let us in), we got in! the apartment was on the ground floor, and simon din noe which one it was! we tried to open all 3 apartments that was on the ground floor (he looked at apartment 1 and muttered "i hope it is not this one"!) but couldnt get any of them open! so after a short call to the owner, we found out we were in the wrong building! when we got in the front door of the correct building, i saw relief on simon's face.. the apt totally did not meet my expectations of $850/mth, in a bad way! room was old, run-down.. the bed sheets were dirty, the air-conditioner was dusty.. the kitchen was not well-equipped.. it's actually right under the stairs of the building! if i lived here i'll be a more fortunate version of harry potter!

of course i was pretty disappointed with the quality of the apt i was viewing.. and simon kept exclaiming how "nice" it was! so i was suspicious of the quality of the next apartment i was viewing that night.. i told simon this price range of apts did not meet my expectations and din want to see the other one. he made a comment which sounded a little offensive although i dun think he meant to be.. "i know what kind of apartments you want.. you want the [insert high-class apartment] kind in herzliya"

he convinced me to see the other apartment. instead of the other $850/mth apt, he immediately called the owner to let us view his other $1250/mth apt. this one was newly renovated, centrally located, had a well equipped kitchen, big fridge, nice bedsheets, good cupboards, yet not overly excessive! =) i loved it! the rent included everything except internet and electricity! if i could i would definitely rent this apartment!

the logistics and flexibilty are huge obstacles.. i think the flexibility is the bigger obstacle. i just heard from my friend-colleague that there were plans to send me to the site in brazil for a while! (which is very exciting by the way!) so maybe it's best that i bring along cup noodles on my next trip and continue to stay in hotels..
