"i like chinese music"

had to go to work today even though it's weekend here because it's not the weekend for the rest of the world!! had to be on site to be accessible to the computers so that the developers could troubleshoot some issues.. glad to say that we've finally been able to crack one big bug!

anw, so i was coming to the office this morning in a taxi, and after about 10minutes of driving, the driver decided to listen to a cd. the first track started with some bells in the background - like those in buddhist temples, followed by some lady talking about 佛经! he skipped to the next track, and there was this choir of people singing to a monotonous tune and i think words from the 佛经! i did not dare to ask anything cos this is really weird to me.. firstly, majority of the people here are jewish, and secondly, he did not attempt to speak a word of chinese to me even though i'm obviously chinese so i don't think he understood what was going on in the cd!

i concluded that he was not buddhist, and did not understand a word of chinese, but was still puzzled why he was listening to such a cd! i din dare to ask though.. haha!

so as i was paying for my ride, he started to chit chat with me...

me: singapore
him: you know chinese?
me: ya i know chinese
him: so you know this (referring to the song)
me: ya, i understand what they are singing.. this is a buddhist song
him: oh, buddhist? i like chinese music. i like this. (starts moving slightly to the music)
