byebye hotel!

i'm not sure if it's a good thing or not, but we have just moved out of the hotel (that was 2 minutes walk away from work) to a guest house some 2-3km away from work. it's great cos now we don't have to deal with the extra good service from the hotel staff (would you like some dessert? is that all? would you like some starters? have a good day maam!), we get to cook and not have to eat the same food everyday, and i guess we get to feel like we are going home instead of always returning to a hotel... but it's horrible cos with the indian traffic, tink we'll need to get up half an hour earlier to get to work! :(

i noe i still owe my biggest fan 2 big posts, one on brazil (which i have started but will take more more time to complete), and one on chennai... i'm going to wait on that cos they take too long to write! instead, i'm going to post some pictures of the new place!

i wish i had taken a foto of the building.. it's super run-down and shabby looking! it's quite a big contrast to the interior of the house... the renovation pretty good, and the furnishing's quite decent.. so tadaa! here's my room! :)

i got the master bedroom. the girls decided that i had the biggest butt so i had to take the biggest room. i only have 2 complaints about the room.. 1) it smells of paint! air freshener doesnt help! 2) there are no windows in the room... quite gloomy even in the day... but then again, i will only be sleeping in the room, so really, windows or not will not make much of a difference... but i think i shld get some stuff to decorate the walls a bit... quite empty!

and here's swati's room. her room's almost half the size of my room, but she has twice as many windows!! haha but unfortunately, our building faces the main road, so when you are sitting in her room, you feel like you are sitting by the road... you can hear all the action that's going on over there.. every honk, every screech... and indians honk alot! so hope she can sleep well!

chinky's room wasnt ready by the time i took the pictures, cos she only flew in from mumbai at night.. so we'll move on to the living room!

living room: view #1.. pokpok you'll hate the chairs man! haha no bird, but it's wooden.. i find it pretty comfortable though, cos there are contours... and in such hot weather, i prefer not to have leather or cushions!

i heart the kitchen! :) looking forward to being able to cook! the gas is only coming in on tuesday, so we have to eat out for another 2 days!

the apartment is pretty big and spacious.. only thing is that it's quite stuffy everywhere in the house.. it's hassle to open the windows cos there is a screen (keep bugs out!) that is super difficult to open. maybe we'll open the windows tomorrow to ventilate the place a little!

anw, really big thanks especially to swati for making the move out so smooth.. she was shopping for the last two weekends for the house cos the owner refused to get the small stuff for us.. only got the big furniture.. chinky and i lucked out a little, cos we only had to go shopping one of the two weekends.. but it's super tiring man! thanks too chinky!! and haha poor sourav, he was on the house hunt team even though he did not stay in the apt eventually! thanks for the trouble! hope u'll find ur place soon! okay now let's cross our fingers and pray hard that we'll have a good time staying together and not get too sick of each other, not too soon at least! :)
