wheeeee! google chrome!

am unusually excited about this new product that google's come up with! first read about it yesterday morning (israel time) and found out that it will be available later in the night!!! (i dlded it 20minutes after the launch) did some searching on the web, and found this comic that introduced the new features that chrome will offer!

2 things that really appealed to me were its dynamic tabs and crash control! :)

the dynamic tabs are actually more cool than useful i guess.. basically, you can now drag tabs out of the browser to create new windows! haha it's cool to see it working, and the only use me and my colleague came up for it was that if i had 2 tabs in a window and i want to see the screens side by side, i can drag one tab out of the window with ease!

the crash control - i hope i wun need to use it much - will only crash one tab at a time instead of crashing the entire browser when one tab crashes... i had a minor crash on a shockwave plugin (this part worked fine with mozilla though!) and yay that really did not crash my entire browser! but according to newspaper reports, a youtube video crashed the whole browser in seconds! and that chrome did not even work very well with google products such as gmail and igoogle... which is baadddd...

well we'll see! it's still in beta so i'm forgiving it... which brings up another question, why is gmail still in beta? it's been 4.5 years since its debut!

ooo.. i just found out something scary about google! did you noe that google's tracking your search history everytime you are logged in? this is good for people who want to access their search history from another computer, but it also means that all your activity is traced and recorded somewhere! ahhh.. second thoughts about using chrome now...

guess i'll stick to mozilla for now! at least until i believe that disabling the search history log really disables the logging, and until chrome irons out some of their bugs and crashes! ah what a change of tone within minutes...

hope google continues to be a friendly company unlike microsoft... but i guess at some point it will become evil... or has it already?
