we went to the san jose "winter wonderland" @ downtown to feel the christmas spirit! there were alot of christmas trees decorated by different organizations put up on display, there was also a funfair kinda thing complete with a couple of ferris wheels and the viking!

we watched the food channel whenever there was nothing else to watch on tv. and david is super inspired to find a ginger bread house on display! so we walked into i think marriot hotel after winter wonderland to find this! tadaaaaa!
instead of going out for an xmas dinner, we decided to make dinner ourselves! clockwise from the left: abalone soup, baked chicken and mushrooms, candle 1, candle 2, my plate, david's plate. we each had a baked garlic, some fried butter mushroom rice and a candy cane! it's YUMMY by the way! really really good!
after the quite sinful dinner, we decided it's good that we did some exercise. so we went for a hike at alum rock park. and here we are at the top of the hike, doing the rocky balboa pose! (i suggested it) haha david was so obsessed with the show that he watched rocky 1-5 in 2 days or was it 1? and we went to watch rocky balboa when he came over! haha =D

i told you he's obsessed with rocky! haha. this is the arcade at santa monica pier! i won him at foosball (thanks rfl!), air hockey and bball! he won me at whack-a-mole and another game i cant rem the name now. heh.

we went to recce pasadena the night before the rose bowl, and there were already tonnes of ppl camping out by the roadside for the rose parade tmr! they even had bbq pits, sleeping bags and all! 
i spotted these people on top of the roof during the rose parade! i told david they looked like snipers, and david said a matter of factly that if they were snipers, they were really lousy. -_- give chance leh...
this is the first float! i think this year's theme is nature or smthing. this woman here is apparently mother nature!
it will be too much to post all the pictures of the floats from the parade here, so here's one that i thought looked quite cool!
george lucas was the grand marshall of the rose bowl, which probably explains this army of storm troopers and darth vader at the rose parade!

the trip was good, but din end that well. my poor pok fell sick and felt faintish/achy the whole day since the rose parade. luckily the rose day was the final day of the holiday.. i made two great achievements though: for the 6 hour drive back (i hollan-ed so that added an extra hour), i drove for 5 hours in two sittings! pretty proud of my increased driving stamina! and i actually woke up to go for work at 7.15am the next day after getting back at 2am! =D
omg! i almost just set my house on fire! candle 2 just burnt through its wrapping and burst into a big flame! the laptop was blocking my view of it so i din notice! it's the first time i feel lucky i had a smoke detector! phew!
