company week was the reason why i was back this week actually. it was a 3 day affair, with meetings back to back to back. during 2 of the sessions, we got the chance to give our feedback on our experience and i spent the time ranting and venting all my frustrations! i'm glad they are finally giving me this outlet to express my unhappiness and hopefully they will be doing something about it!
the week ended with our usual gift exchange! haha chloe, anthony and i went to get our gifts together and because it's white elephant, there was a high possibility that we would be able to get smthing we actually liked! and so we kept that in mind while shopping, deliberately getting stuff "for ourselves"! and of course our evil plans worked out perfectly and we got what we picked for ourselves! anthony got a talking ball! and we had quite some fun playing with the ball before the dinner! dinner was normal.. i never really liked company functions like these! i'd very much rather go to paul's steak and wii house for good steak and good fun with good friends! =)
i think that even though i've been complaining alot about work, it's been a pretty good year =) i've made a few really good friends at work (and this friend base is actually growing! i cannot believe it!)! it's rare cos i'm out of the office most of the time, but these people make up the main reason why i call sjc my home too =) thanks!
it was freaking cold the week i was back in sjc, or at least at night! even more so since my heater died on me, and everytime i tried switching on the space heater my landlord loaned me, my room will black out! so i put on michigan hoodie, wore fuzzy pants, put on socks, hid under a layer of fleece and a layer of blanket!! but it was still not enough! that forced me to take out my secret weapon: my hot water bottle! i never used it much even in michigan! (the heaters dun break down just like that!) but it's a great invention i must say, kept me warm throughout the two nights i was using it! haha chloe thought i was in a quite pathetic/sympathetic state so she and sunny convinced my landlord that i was going to move out cos i was too cold! haha that sent her in a state of frenzy! she immediately called the electric company to come fix it! haha thanks 亲爱的!
ong was in sunnyvale for work for the month but i din get the chance to meet him much.. still, it was nice to meet a familiar fat face and have someone to go eat singaporean food tgr. when pok came, i couldnt bear to bring him to eat expensive singaporean food when he could get it for less than half the price back home! haha =) anw it was great to meet you after a good half a year, smhow i have this feeling that the next time we meet may be at someone's wedding!
speaking of which.. there are many friends around me applying for flat or buying house! my gosh! it's really scary! please give at least 6 months notice hor everybody! jiaying needs time to lose weight to fit in that dress that i need to be in so that i dun spoil ur wedding fotos! haha =)
i miss home already! and by home this time, i mean sjc and sg.
