reached sf on thursday night. stayed one night in a san jose hotel before setting off for the apartment hunt. called up at least 20 companies, left at least 10 messages and received only one call back. looked at 7 apartments and finally decided on signing a 6-month lease on this apartment 10 mins drive away from work. i'm glad i got the apartment hunt out of the way, cos i think my main purpose coming down so early is to holiday!!!

walked down to fisherman's wharf and had my first in-N-out burger on friday night! it's really quite good for fast food! =) the burger tasted really fresh and it's just cool, the whole concept of the chain! =) will be back again for more burgers on monday dinner! =) and will be back for clam chowder (along fisherman's wharf) on monday lunch! will be back for chocolates (ghiradelli) on monday sometime in the afternoon!

met up with karl and kevin for dim sum yesterday. it's weird how kevin and i don't really know each other, but still could talk like we do. it's good that we do, think i'll be hanging out quite alot with this bunch in future. spent the next four hours or so watching football at the bayside sports bar. out of the 4 games we kinda watched, 3 had favourable results! 1. the tigers are going to the world series for the first time since 1984! 2. auburn beat florida 3. michigan beat penn state (17-10) and that means we are one of the 3 undefeated tems left! i hope we will remain undefeated for the season and ohio will remain undefeated until they meet us so that we can thrash them bad! muahahaa! the day ended with a short walk to see the octagon house followed by a thai meal at some random thai restaurant that we found. the waitress is really cute, she just kept giggling and smiling, that we tipped her more than usual. heh =)

today was much more eventful! i woke up at 9am and only really woke up at 10.15am. the first stop was to twin peaks! we climbed the other peak instead of the one the berkeley gang climbed the last time. the wind was not as strong as i remembered but the view was still as spectacular despite the thick fog/clouds! coming down from the peaks, we hollan-ed 3 times before we found our way to the bus-stop. on the way to lunch, we hollan-ed another time, getting off a couple of stops earlier than we should. we had the map in our hand but just couldnt navigate properly! dunno what's wrong with us. ended up for lunch at 老上海, where we had these thick chow mien which pok loved and couldnt stop exclaiming how good it was! 许留山 mango pudding was next! it was not as fantastic as i imagined, but it was still better than average! =)

while waiting for the bus to golden gate bridge, we counted the number of mazda 3s which drove past us, as compared to honda elements. i think that honda elements and scion xBs are really by far the ugliest cars i've seen, and we just cant help but notice how many there are in san fran. to our surprise and a little disappointment, no mazda 3s and elements drove past after the first element we spotted (not counted in the survey). went to sausalito for the third time (pok's second) and shared our experiences of past visits. ooh we did another count activity while waiting for the bus to sausalito, this time toyota prius vs honda elements + scion xBs. prius won element/xB hands down 10-3! anyway, back to sausalito, i think we din explore all of sausalito's shops the last time, or i was probably not paying attention.. cos i cant rem some of the shops that we saw today. it's cool that san fran's both our favourite city in the US, that we don't mind re-visiting it again. =)

was too full for a real dinner, so decided to take the cable car to china town to buy pastries for supper and breakfast tmr! =) luckily i had to shit before that that we left the hotel 15 mins later, cos we caught this exciting car-chase shoot along the steep san fran streets right after we got off the cable car! the car sped down the hill and reversed into this car park on the opposite street before turning back out and parked back on the side of the road it came down on. woohoo! how cool! we don't know what movie/show it's for, we are guessing it may be for 4 fast 4 furious!!
